What provides so extensive use of PET? PET is a light polymer yet there are lighter polymers, for instance polypropylene. PET has excellent recycling parameters, but it is inferior to it’s akin polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). PET is cost saving and, at the same time, it is not the cheapest among the polymers. However, speaking about PET’s stability, inertness and barrier properties, PET is unchallenged by other mass (heavytonnage) polymers.

This product has no risk of injury and it is crucial at sport events, festivals and other overcrowded events. Because of synergy of these advantages, the manufacturers of different products successfully use PET packaging for mineral and drink water, carbonated and non-carbonated drinks, juices and vegetable oil (especially extra virgin olive oil, pumpkinseed oil etc.), tomato sauce, rye beer (kvass), beer, yoghourt, milk, kefir and other dairy products, wines, strong alcoholic beverages, vinegar, as well as perfumes and cosmetic products, household chemicals, motor oil, antifreeze, etc.
Higher chemical inertness and viscosity of PET bottle with the products packaged in PET provides a constant production increase around the world. Annually, more than 18 million ton of this polymer is produced, there are production lines with 90 000 bottles per minute.
 What is more, PET textile industry should be mentioned as it produces an even greater volumes (more than 42 million tons per year), and has a strong wide application in the production of fibers and threads. In terms of production volumes polyester fibers and threads are superior to all the others put together.
